Safety Edges are electrical, pressure-sensitive sensors used to safeguard people and objects from dangerous crushing and shearing points on automated movement systems. How Safety Edges Work
Our Safety Edges are based on a tried-and-tested principle:
- Contact Strip Integration: A highly conductive contact strip is drawn into a robust rubber profile. 2. Immediate Response: When the moving element (e.g., a gate or door) encounters an obstruction, even with minimal pressure, the two conductive rubber profiles within the edge are pressed together.
- Opening Pulse: This contact closes a circuit, generating an opening pulse that is immediately forwarded to a switching device or a transmission system, causing the movement to stop or reverse.
This reliable technical design ensures high responsiveness and protection in both standard and unusual applications.
