Objective

ladle is basically a vessel that is capable of withstanding and carrying extremely high temperatures molten metals. This Ladle Refractory made of a layer of thick brick and these brick plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of molten metal. Due to defective bricks these ladles are subject to heat damage and corrosion which will result in quality compromise in further casting process. So the ladle inner profile inspection must be done periodically with the help of 3D laser scanner.

Challenges

To carried out proper inner profile scanning by 3D scanner, the ladle should be positioned to an exact position so that 3D scanner can do its work properly.

Solution from Dimetix

We have suggested our Dimetix laser sensor DAN-10-150. Two laser sensors are to be mounted on X-Y axis and works in synchronization with each other. Once proper co-ordinates of ladle are achieved then the 3D scanner can complete the inner profile scanning accurately.
