Spring applied brakes work in the absence of electricity and are therefore ideal in the event of an emergency since they can maintain the stoppage position for a long time. When power supply is interrupted, the springs provide locking pressure to lock the rotor between a fixed plate and the armature and generate a braking torque to lock rotation of the shaft. When power is restored, with energy reaching the coil, a magnetic force is generated that pulls the armature to compress the springs and release the brake.
It is a range of highly flexible brakes, suitable for multiple applications where there is the needing to brake the motion and ensure parking. The brake is composed by 3 components, coil housing, disc brake and coupling hub between the motor shaft and the disc brake. The working way is easy, by the effect of the spring pressure on the anchor the braking torque is generated, they are negative safety brakes, in the absence of current the brake is blocked. This series of safety brakes is equipped with an adjustment torque ring, it is possible to adjust the braking torque by rotating this ring located on the upper part of the coil housing.
These brakes also have adjustment screws to recover the air gap due to brake disc wear consumption.
It is possible to release the brake even in the event of an emergency or power failure by using a handle release.
A micro-switch can also be applied to monitor if the brake is working properly.

The Comp series safety brakes have been designed to be applied to engines with an aluminium cover or when the surface's cover is not suitable for the working of the braking disk. They are equipped with a flange and are ready for installation on the motor.
The brake is composed by 4 components, the coil housing, the brake disc, coupling hub between shaft and brake disc, lower flange already assembled.
